Tamiya are one of the best known plastic model manufacturers and have always lead the field in both design and quality. Over the last few years many people would say that the gap has closed with other manufacturers like Dragon, Trumpeter and Hobbyboss not only competing with Tamiya for quality but in some cases producing better products and a much better price. Tamiya recently started the trend in producing 1:48th scale military kits and many other suppliers are now following suit.
